"I don't know if this qualifies as velvet. Velvet is woven with a raised, fuzzy surface made of tiny upright threads (the pile), those threads naturally lean in one specific direction. The piling in this is straight up with no lean. The look is super cute, but it would be much better if it were actually made with velvet. Again, the material is not velvet"
